Deep Purple has postponed two concerts in Germany after lead singer Ian Gillan was hospitalized following a medical emergency.

The band confirmed on October 31, 2026, that its scheduled performances in Leipzig and Hamburg would not take place as planned because of Gillan’s health situation. The Leipzig concert was scheduled for October 31, followed by Hamburg on November 1.

Gillan, 81, has been the longtime voice of Deep Purple, known for classic rock songs including Smoke on the Water, Highway Star, and Child in Time.

The group said it was working to arrange replacement dates for both concerts. Fans who purchased tickets were informed that their existing tickets would remain valid for the rescheduled shows.

Details about the medical emergency have not been publicly disclosed, and no official information has been provided about Gillan’s condition or expected recovery.

Deep Purple has been touring in support of its 2026 album Splat!. Additional European performances were scheduled, including a November 3 concert in Dortmund.

At the time of the announcement, the band had not confirmed whether any further tour dates would be affected.
