Paul McCartney has shared new details about performing at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding, including how the song choice came together. During an October 2 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, McCartney said Swift personally asked him to perform the Beatles classic I Want to Hold Your Hand.
McCartney explained that Swift was onstage during the performance, so he encouraged her to sing along and direct the romantic lyrics toward Kelce. He did not confirm whether the moment turned into a full duet.
The performance took place during Swift and Kelce’s July 3 wedding celebration at Madison Square Garden in New York City. It also marked a rare return for the song, which McCartney had not performed live since his years with the Beatles in the 1960s.
